FAQ

  • What are Escape Rooms?
Escape Rooms are a fantastic new entertainment activity that helps team bonding. You and a team of your choosing (Friends, family, co-workers, school mates etc) will venture into a themed room. In that room you will discover many hidden objects, codes, keys, riddles and clues that will help you complete your simple final goal: escaping the room in 60 minutes!
  • Am I actually locked in?
Absolutely not! Physically locking players into rooms is not only immoral, but illegal. All players are welcome to leave via the entrance door of the escape room at any time for any reason.
  • What if I get stuck?
Each room is fitted with cameras and microphones (not recorded) and your team will be provided with a walkie-talkie to keep you in touch with our all-knowing game masters. Just give them a yell and they’ll point you in the right direction, but they will not spoil the puzzle, they will just guide you.
  • Do I have to book beforehand?
Yes, we highly recommend booking in advance. You can try popping in to see what rooms are available, but we don’t guarantee there will be anything available, and we would prefer you to book online. Bookings can be completed here.
  • I told some friends I was going to Breakout Bendigo, and now they want to tag along! Is this okay?
Absolutely! If you have extra players than you booked for, just get them to come along and we’ll fix it up when you arrive.
  • We've booked for less than six people. Will we have to play with others?
No. Your chosen team will have an exclusive opportunity to escape. We will not add players to your experience, all bookings are completely private.
  • Are the rooms DARK?
the large majority of our games are completely light, you will be able to see everything you need to without any sort of torch. However, the only game that does include a dark element is The Orphanage game, in which the room you enter will be nearly pitch black, though this portion of the game lasts no longer than 5-10 minutes (It goes quick!). Other than that, every room is lit!
  • When is Breakout Bendigo open?
We're open from Wednesday to Sunday each week! Wednesdays and Thursdays: 2pm-7pm Fridays and Saturdays: 10am- 8:30pm Sunday: 10am- 7pm
  • How long does the experience take?
Our games are designed to take just 60 minutes. This means that you’ll really need to work together to succeed! We recommend you arrive 15 minutes before your appointment and allow 1 ½ hours for the whole experience to allow for debrief after and photo opportunities.

If if you are 8-12 you need a parent or guardian to come in and play with you.

  • Is Breakout Bendigo wheelchair accessible?
While the inside of the building is completely wheelchair accessible, the front step can be a little challenge. A simple temporary ramp is all that's needed. However, at this stage we do not have disabled bathroom facilities. We are working on having this available in the near future.
  • Are there live actors or anything that can jump out at me?
Simple answer: No. There's nothing that can jump out and/or harm you in our rooms, and there's no live actors! (yet!)
  • Would Breakout Bendigo be a good choice for my kids' party?
Absolutely! Kids have a ball going in with their friends to solve all the puzzles together. It gets them off devices and into a controlled team working environment! For ages 10+ Breakout Bendigo is the perfect solution to any kids party!
  • Are the rooms suitable for kids?
While our games are suitable for kids, the games and puzzles are primarily designed for adults. Keep this in mind, while kids CAN solve a lot of the puzzles in our rooms, they also tend to get bored at times where they get stuck, since there's not always something for everyone to do at one time. Some puzzles are also too complicated for kids as well. Children 7 and under can come into the room completely free. Any children from 8-12 need to have a guardian or parent accompany them into the room. However kids from 13-17 may go into the room by themselves, they must have a parent or guardian 18 or older come instore to sign them in.
  • What if I am early?
If you are ready before your actual booking time, let our team know! Feel free to come in and tell us you're here, and your game just might be ready for you to play earlier than scheduled.
